Hair Product Review: Argan Oil

Hi Everyone!

It's a beautiful day in Seattle and I was walking out in the sun after getting off from work early and a couple of people commented on my hair. Normally I style my hair by blow-drying it straight (which takes forever and you end up with a sore arm the next day) or straightening it (in which case it looks a little too perfect and fake). But recently, because of the warm weather and because work has suddenly become extremely busy, I have stopped styling it. I did however, get a new product recently from Sally Beauty Supply by the brand One 'N Only called Argan Oil Restorative Mask.

It's actually really inexpensive, I think you can get this for around 5 dollars on Amazon.com and also for 6-8 dollars at Sally Beauty Supply.  Argon Oil, endemic to Morocco, has soared in popularity in recent years, made popular by Josie Maran's line of Argon Oil skincare and makeup.  I've heard about it before but I didn't think it would make such a difference in my hair since I only use it once or twice a week.  You basically put this mask on in the shower, after shampoo, and leave it for 7-10 minutes.  Then you just rinse it off like normal conditioner.  The smell is a little overwhelming sometimes, it kind of smells like you spilled Chanel No.5 or some other strong feminine perfume on yourself but the smell soon dissipates after you rinse the mask off.

It's very creamy in consistency and thus helps restore moisture to dry and damaged hair.  With all the heat-styling that I do, this was definitely a must.  However, I've used it for a good month or two now, and my hair has gotten to the point where I can just leave it after using this product without any styling, and it still looks good!  The frizz has dramatically decreased, my hair feels a lot softer, and it never makes my hair too oily.  Keep in mind that you should only use this once or twice a week, not every day.  This is totally worth it for me because it saves me about 20 minutes in the morning of not having to straighten my hair.  My hair is moisturized but not oily to the point where hair is clumped together but it just feels very silky smooth :)  It's a fabulous product for very cheap and at the very least, you guys should try it out if interested!

Okay that's all for now.  As the summer arrives, it's really important to decrease your makeup routine and just go with the naturals.  Try to give your hair a break, minimize the heat styling, and let your natural hair texture run wild :D  As for makeup, it needs to adjust to the heat too.  I will do a post shortly about summer makeup and sun care, which I'm really passionate about.  Stay tuned!

Also, in case you haven't heard, this weekend, Victoria's Secret is having a small "semi-annual sale" and you guys should definitely check it out!  I got this matching bra and panties there this afternoon in a beautiful coral/pinkish shade.  I cannot resist buying lingerie, it is a PROBLEM!!!  I swear I've gotten something at every semi-annual sale and thus my drawers look like a mini-VS.  Oh well :D  Some people collect shoes or purses...I collect....this.....

Hahaha okay, I'm really excited for the three days off!  Have a good weekend everyone!  Happy Memorial Day!  I will be going on vacation next week, visiting my family in Hawaii so I'll probably blog from the beach :)  Can't wait.

Until next time,
Ke
