Today I have a review on a blush I bought a couple weeks ago by MAC: Plum Foolery. It's part of MAC's Sheertone Shimmer Blush line and thus has a beautiful, natural, and dewy finish. The blush is a plummy, mauvey color with very fine gold shimmers in it. The gold is very inconspicuous and subtle (much less noticeable compared to NARS Orgasm, another blush with gold shimmer) which gives a very natural/glowy look. As with all sheertone blushes, the color can be built up for a very pigmented look or just swept across cheeks for a light flush.
Overall I do really like this blush. It's the right amount of shimmer so that it doesn't look glittery but makes my skin radiant. However, I do wish it showed up a little more mauve/purple-ish on my fair skin. It gives my skin a lovely warm glow but I was expecting more of a cool/winter blush color than a spring one (which I think this is). I will be wearing this over the next few months for sure as it gets warmer.
I was debating between this one and MAC's Gingerly but I'm glad I got Plum Foolery. It's more similar to Ginger than you'd think (if that makes sense at all) but not completely orange/apricot-toned where cool-shade individuals can not pull it off. The blush wears for about 6 hours, not as long as Tarte's Amazonian Clay blush but definitely longer than other department store blushes I've tried out. All in all, I can understand why Plum Foolery is one of the most raved products from MAC...I will definitely be repurchasing in the future.
Hope you all had a good weekend and are enjoying the Oscars tonight with family and friends!

I've contemplated getting this so many times but never got it.. You make it sound so tempting =P
ReplyDeleteyou totally should! i feel like this should be a staple in a girl's makeup bag. it's the perfect everyday blush without too much shimmer and i would definitely rate it in my top 5 blushes. :)
